Evolution — drift & settling
It starts a blank Nub; feeding tilts a compass toward a family, and you commit the change.
Every Scramp starts as a Nub — a blank dumpling of potential with no family and no fixed shape.
Feeding tilts a compass toward one of the ten families, but nothing flips overnight. The Nub holds its current lean until the pull is decisive, which means a single odd meal cannot derail it and you can always feed it back the other way.
When the lean is strong enough it becomes ready to settle — and settling is an explicit act. You press the button. The app will never transform your Scramp behind your back while you are away.
After it settles
Form is a commitment, not a checkpoint. Reshaping later is deliberate and limited, so the moment you choose to settle is a real decision rather than a formality.
Form is not maturity. Settling picks who it is, not how grown it is — there is no level attached, and a settled Scramp is not further along than an unsettled one. It is simply decided.
Nothing flips on its own. The compass leans; you commit the change.
