Reading the dot
Events arrive as tinted pulses rather than notifications: one colour for focus, another for care, another for the radio. A glance tells you what wanted your attention without a popup stealing it.
Flip back with the same shortcut and it picks up exactly where it was. Nothing is lost by hiding it, and nothing accumulates as a penalty while it is small.
